The Wet WOZ (Property Valuation Act) has changed with effect from 1 January 2024. The change relates to paying legal expenses reimbursement to WOZ agencies.
From this year, WOZ agencies will receive a lower reimbursement for granted WOZ objections. In addition, we must pay this reimbursement to the person on whose behalf the WOZ agency is objecting. We are no longer allowed to pay the amount directly to the WOZ agency. The aim is that people can see what amount the WOZ agency is receiving for the objection.
Some WOZ agencies specify in their standard mandate that we have to pay the reimbursement to them. This is not allowed under the Wet WOZ. If you have submitted an objection through a WOZ agency and we have reduced the WOZ value, then you will receive the legal expenses reimbursement from us, and not the WOZ agency. The WOZ agency will then send you an invoice to pay this amount to them.
