Any changes to your situation may affect your tax-bill. There is often no need to notify us of changes. We receive most private information from the municipal authorities or the Land Registry Office.

We receive the relevant details from the municipal authorities. We will automatically correct the details on the tax-bill if necessary.

Selling a home

We receive these details from the Land Registry Office. This often does not affect your tax bill.

The situation as at 1 January determines the tax for the entire year. This year, you pay only for the building you owned as at 1 January. Usually, the notary public will charge the new owner for the portion after the transfer date. But this is not required or automatic. Have you bought a house on a date other than 1 January? Then you will not receive a tax bill for this house for that year. Did you move to a different home before 1 January? Then you can submit an objection via My RBG.

Separation and divorce

We receive details about separation and divorce from the municipal authorities. We will automatically edit the details on the tax bill as necessary.

    Is the tax bill addressed to the person leaving the relevant municipality and/or water board? Then the tax bill is automatically reduced accordingly. The person staying in the same place will often receive a tax bill for part of the year. Is the tax bill addressed to the person staying in the same place? Then the tax bill is usually correct. Except if this person now lives alone. Then the tax bill is also automatically reduced accordingly.

Living together

Did you both receive an RBG tax bill for this year? Then you can submit an objection via My RBG.

    In other cases, no action is required. We receive the relevant details from the municipal authorities.

How does it work?

  2. We will automatically correct the details on the tax-bill if necessary.

  3. You will receive a letter after we have corrected the tax-bill
