Accessibility of the RBG website

Since 23 September 2020, government organisations are legally required to make their websites accessible to all target groups, including individuals who are blind, visually impaired, deaf or unable to use a mouse.

RBG meets accessibility requirements with status B

Government bodies are required to issue an accessibility statement regarding their website’s status. The government recognises five accessibility statuses. Currently, statuses A, B and C meet the accessibility obligations.
The RBG has had its website tested by an independent third party. Based on this test, an accessibility statement was prepared, including an improvement plan. As a result, the RBG has achieved status B, meeting the applicable accessibility requirements. The RBG’s accessibility statement is included in the national register of accessibility statements.

Why is digital accessibility important?

It is important that everyone has access to government information. Accessible websites enable more people to access government information and handle their affairs digitally.
